A house where
Europe ends...
Almoçageme. Behind it, the
Serra de Sintra. At its feet Praia da Adraga. A village still living
a village lifestyle. And a village house, in the middle of the village
but with all the comforts of modern civilisation. Tradition and
modernity in perfect balance. The place one dreams of, between the
hills and the sea, nature still untouched just half an hour drive
from Lisbon.
It was once the miller’s house, with
a huge baker’s oven; a careful refurbishing turned it into
the ideal place to spend a restful vacation. A sunny yard gives
access to an ample room with an area for the meals, a living area
and a complete kitchen bench with all the necessary equipment. In
the first floor, two bedrooms with large closets, and windows waiting
for the sunset light to come in. And a fully equipped bathroom.
The perfect house for four people but which can lodge up to six
people, since it has a sofa bed in the ground floor. All this in
the heart of Almoçageme, within walking distance from shops,
cafés, and small restaurants.
The nearest beach, Praia da Adraga, is one of Portugal’s hidden
treasures, recently selected by "The Sunday Times" as
one of the 20 Europe’s best beaches. Wild and sheltered, it
lies a mere two kilometres away from the village and you can find
there a little but charming restaurant which serves fish and seafood
specialities.
In front of your eyes you just have the sea, the unforgettable sunsets
and the unique sensation of being in the westernmost beach of Europe.
